MTC147 ACCA Manual J, S and Manual D Apr 30, 2025 08:30 am

Attendees will learn proper procedures for calculating heat loss and heat gain using the industry standard Manual J. We’ll take you step-by-step, assisting you in performing calculations necessary to properly select heating and cooling equipment based on sensible and latent load requirements. This class will give you a better understanding of proper system sizing and the implications of doing things the “wrong” way- emphasizing proper sizing of heat pumps and air conditioners to maximize dehumidification and avoid system oversizing.
Attendees will learn how to perform room-by-room or whole-house load calculations while meeting the ROC, APS, SRP & Municipalities requirements.

• Calculate heat transfer & infiltration
• Calculate duct losses and gains
• Calculate sensible and latent load requirements
• Properly select equipment using engineering data
• Accurately survey structures
