As the HVACR industry continues to move forward and innovate, the refrigerants that were once so commonplace are now being phased out. Replacing them are more energy efficient, environmentally friendlier refrigerants, known as Low GWP refrigerants. Many of these new refrigerants are classified by ASHRAE as A2L or slightly flammable.

Attendees will fully understand ignition prevention, safety, and best practices for the use of A2L refrigerants, including an overview of R32 Refrigerant, how to prepare for the change, and how to speak with homeowners about the change. Attendees will assist with refrigerant recovery on working air conditioning equipment. Attendees will review and understand restrictions on refrigerant use, installation restrictions, refrigeration concentration limit, labeling requirements, A2L Condenser Tech Tip Checklist, and OEM Documents.
